Xuan Xin Restaurant 港式小厨 @ Gurney Plaza, Penang

April 27, 2009 · Posted in Asian Delicacies

It has been a very long time we never go for a movie. Yes! We both are super busy lately… … Mr bear is a workaholic, we hardly see each other. So, when he could spare some time with me, I’d be very happy like a little girl. I’m indeed cherish the precious moment with him : )

Last week, we had our late lunch @ Xuan Xin Restaurant before movie. We both were in a good mood, enjoying the day off work ^o^

The Bill

Overall, the food is above average, decent except for the black pepper crab (RM6/100gram), kinda disappointed with the taste, it was more like the crab in black bean sauce, missing the black pepper flavor that I love : (

As for the menu, it has a wide variety of choices, set meal for two, group of 3-4 or 10. Great for family and friends gathering.

Next up, my favorite Chinese seafood restaurant with the best in town black pepper crab and Nestum Cereal Prawns/ Mantis Prawns ^ ^

    Hi, PenangTuaPui.

OOppsss, that sound terrible… thankful, our lunch was pretty good : p
yea, I’d definitely go for another try. But i do think it gotta improve the uneven food consistency and service, otherwise… …it is a waste of $$ dining there.

    Hey, screamin’ Mama

I’m a spicy lover too!! Other than mushroom soup, clam chowder, tomyam soup, & many many more, my another fav goes to hot & sour szachuan soup.

It is very appetizing!! : )

Contrary to what a pleasant experience u had at Xuanxin we had a totally different experience there. It was of utter disappointment though u had praised the food there ,our food was nuthin to shout about.on top of that to make matters worse out of the 6 dishes we had ,there was a stone pebble in the prawn dish.Unbelievable,n to add insult there was strands of hair in our coffee blended drink. We conplained n had a change of the drink but turned down a replacement of the prwan dish as we feared to think of what to expect next.I believe u must be so lucky to have good food there.

I’m so sorry to hear that. The quality drop?? I need to find out.
