Remember on the previous post – Xuan Xin Restaurant 港式小厨 @ Gurney Plaza, Penang? I was very keen to introduce to all, my favorite and also my vote for the best in town
black pepper crab and Nestum cereal prawns/mantis prawns. Yes, this is the place for cheap and fresh local seafood that I love to go with Mr Bear. ^^
We just brought my sweet pal, Cherry there with her colleagues last week, they are all from Ipoh and KL. So what they commented on the food? Well, the guys gave the thumbs up while Cherry just couldn’t wait for a beer, the second round of the night. Am I right, Cherry? Hehe… …
Here come the first, mouth watering Dongpo Pork (slow-braised pork belly).
Dongpo Pork, 东坡肉 - RM12
Chinese Spinach Soup with Century Eggs, 上汤苋菜 - RM12
Black Pepper Crab, 黑椒炒鲜蟹 - RM45
Nyonya Steamed Fish，娘惹蒸鱼 - RM21
Nestum Cereal Mantis Prawns, 麦片濑尿虾 - RM12
I prefer Nestum cereal prawns over the Nestum cereal mantis prawns. Simply because the chef tend to coat the mantis prawns with too much flour : (
The Bill
The total for the dinner was RM108.40, including the rices and drinks for a table of 6. Reasonable price, isn’t it? Oh ya, the restaurant serves the food pretty fast, so you do not have to wait for very long. This is definitely a good service, you know… …especially when you are starving : p
A Word to Cherry
