Swensen’s @ Gurney Plaza, Penang

One fine day, we were out for a quick brunch @ Swensen’s and did some shopping in Gurney Plaza. Yea, Gurney Plaza again : )

Let’s start!! The First Meal of The Day

Beef Baked Rice

Beef Baked Rice – RM17.90

Drink

Café Latte & Mochaccino

Café Latte – RM6.90

Mochaccino – RM7.90
A nice cup to warm my empty stomach.

Clam Chowder – RM11.90

Clam Chowder

From the menu: Baby clams, diced potatoes, carrots, onions and celery in creamy soup served in a sourdough breadbowl.

I have been longing to dine here just to try out the clam chowder, turned out I was disappointed by the bland soup. Not worth it, I would rather go to The Eclectic.

Beef Baked Rice – RM17.90

Beef Baked Rice

From the menu: Delicious taco beef baked over savory rice and cheese with crispy tortilla on the side.

Mr Bear’s order. It was not bad but a lack of beef flavor.

Chicken Mushroom Spaghetti – RM17.90

Chicken Mushroom Spaghetti

From the menu: Spaghetti in tomato sauce with sauteed chicken and mushrooms sprinkled with cheese.

Tasted good but just for the first few bites, it was too salty and the meat got overcooked.

The Bill

RM64.70 in total after 10% discount for J Card members. To me, this is a place to consider for a drink… …still thinking of the nice Mochaccino in my mind ^^

Sad to say, the food is not up to our expectation for this price range. And the ice cream, the house specialty? Well, haven’t got the chance to try it, kinda pricey… … will give it a try, put it to my waiting list first : p
